The 2006-2007 Neuroscience
Center of Excellence Survey

Our third annual Neuroscience Center of Excellence Survey included over 150 hospital participants from throughout North America. Co-sponsored by HealthTech, a San Francisco-based healthcare organization, the survey is the only one of its kind in the neurosciences. It is a comprehensive tool used to define and measure neuroscience program infrastructure. Survey respondents are rated in four key COE components: Programs, Staff, Facility & Technology and Business.

Utilizing the NeuroSource Neuroscience Staging Plan™ , each program was categorized in one of four stages:

1. Stage 1—Clinical Service
2. Stage 2—Service Line
3. Stage 3—Specialty Center
4. Stage 4 —Institute

Upon submission of a completed survey, each participant received a complimentary Executive Summary Report Card. The Executive Summary Report Card is a quick look at the key drivers of infrastructure and performance within each program. The category “score” allows the participant to compare its neuroscience program to the average score of all participants.
