NeuroSource COE Survey

Center of Excellence designation

The COE Designation is a formal recognition of hospitals and health systems with neuroscience programs of excellence. Neuroscience programs are compared using the annual Neuroscience Center of Excellence (COE) Survey and evaluated using a staging model that categorizes each program in one of four stages—Clinical Service, Service Line, Specialty Center and Institute. Neuroscience programs characterized as Specialty Centers or Institutes are deemed “Centers of Excellence.”

A record 150 hospital-based neuroscience programs, from 41 states, contributed to the 2006 Neuroscience Center of Excellence Survey. In its third year, the survey is the only one of its kind in the neurosciences, and has become the industry standard to measure program progression and performance across four key indicators: Programs, Staff, Facility and Technology, and Business.
